Butterfly Craft
Spring is in the air! This simple butterfly craft is a perfect activity for preschool or elementary kids. It gives them a chance to work on fine motor skills while they learn about these beautiful insects!

Before you know it, bees and butterflies will be filling the air as warm weather comes back around. This is the perfect time for crafts and activities that give kids a hands-on way to relate to what they see around them. Butterflies are always a favorite with kids and adults alike for their beauty!
The materials needed for this fun and easy butterfly craft are probably already around your home! Your kids will love cutting, wrapping, and gluing as they build their very own butterfly. This is a craft they are sure to enjoy and can even play pretend with once they are finished!

Supplies Needed:
Butterfly Craft
- Yarn in various colors
- Pipe Cleaners
- Scissors
- Glue gun
- Glue stick
- Construction Paper
- Googly eyes
- Paper plate
- Plastic spoon
Glue gun should always be used by a parent or with parent supervision for older children.

How to Make a Butterfly Craft:
First cut the paper plate into a butterfly shape. Trace the butterfly onto the construction paper then cut it out and glue it to the paper plate.


Line the butterfly wings with colored pipe cleaners. Make the butterfly’s body using the plastic spoon. Wrap the spoon alternately using the yarn.


Glue the googly eyes to the spoon and use another pipe clean for the antenna, gluing that to the back of the spoon. Finally, glue the spoon to the center of the butterfly wings.

- pipe cleaners
- scissors
- hot glue gun
- glue stick
- construction paper
- googly eyes
- paper plate
- plastic spoon

- Glue the spoon to the center of the butterfly wings.
